Postdoc Joan Damerow discusses ESS-DIVE’s updated reporting format for sample IDs and metadata to describe sample collection and highlights updates that address ESS sample characterization, tracking and linking related information to samples.

Community Funds Project Highlight: Water Quality and Hydrological Monitoring Standards

August 20, 2020
Kristin Boye (SLAC) and Amy Goldman (PNNL)
Our August monthly webinar features a continued discussion on developing ESS data standards. The discussion is led by our community funds partners Kristin Boye (SLAC) and Amy Goldman (PNNL) who are developing water quality and hydrological monitoring standards. Visit our Community Projects page to learn more about additional standardization efforts.

Community Funds Project Highlight: Leaf Physiology and Soil Respiration Standards

July 28th, 2020
Ben Bond-Lamberty/Stephanie Pennington (PNNL), Kim Ely/Alistair Rogers (BNL)
Our July webinar is a continuation of our series discussing the progress of the ESS-DIVE community projects. Community funds parters Ben Bond-Lamberty, Stephanie Pennington, Kim Ely, and Alistair Rogers lead this discussion on the development of leaf physiology and soil respiration standards. Visit our Community Projects page to learn more about additional standardization efforts.

Community Funds Project Highlight: File CSV Standards

June 30, 2020
Terri Velliquette and team, ORNL
Our June webinar features the first presentation by our community projects working on data standards. Terri Velliquette and the team from ORNL present the first draft of the proposed file-level metadata and comma separated value (csv) data standards. When final, these standards will apply for most ESS-DIVE data submissions. Feedback regarding the draft presented is welcome and encouraged. Visit our Community Projects page to learn more about additional standardization efforts.

ESS-DIVE Bootcamp

April 28, 2020
Fianna O’Brien, LBNL
Webinar Slides
For our April webinar, Fianna O’Brien guides the ESS-DIVE community through an “ESS-DIVE Bootcamp.” Aimed towards new users uploading and publishing data on ESS-DIVE, this presentation covers our data contributor registration process, metadata and data submission via the data portal/API, and our data quality expectations. The webinar also included a live demo, which can be replicated using the documents here.
